Things Change Fast

I traded in my V Star and got a Harley Davidson Softail . 

After only having it for two months I was hit by a hit and run driver and spent 8 days in the Hospital.  It has been a long and painful recovery.  So now I am looking for my next ride to enjoy some new adventures.  Thinking about a Can-Am Spyder because of the injuries don't think a another motorcycle would be a good fit for me. Looking forward to see you on the road.

Spring is here

Warmer weather is here and we are so glad to see it we have had so go rides this winter even on some of the colder days but so glad to see warmer weather.  I ride was a great group of guys and gals almost every weekend and the are the greatest

There is one guy that is our road captain aka Farmer he plans all our rides and routes and does a great job of it. I have a trip planned on June to Skyline Drive VA. To ride the parkway all the way down if possible and time permits and also do the Back of the Dragon. I will post more about that trip as time gets closer. Winter is coming

As most of you know we sold out motorhome and moved into a apartment in Salisbury for the time being. We still plan on traveling when we can but will not be in the motorhome. Since we have been back in Salisbury I have taken up riding motorcycles again and have got to say I am haveing a great time. Have meet some great people and made a lot of good friends.

I joined a group of riders that ride every weekend for short day trips and loving it . This is not a club but just a group of guys and gals that love to ride.

I might not have found this group of it had not been for a great guy named Scott ( AKA Farmer ) who texted my after seeing one of my post on Facebook and invited me to go riding with them . Since then we have had so great rides with lots more to come. Here are some pictures from some of our rides over the summer.

We still have some good rides lined up and depending on the weather this winter will still ride as much as possible so check back will be postonh pictures as much as possible and going to try for some ride videos soon.

We are really forward to a trip we have planned this spring with my son in law. Planning a motorcycle camping trip to ride down Skyline Drive VA . Not sure as of now how many days we are going to stay but should be interesting first time I have stayed in a tent in years.

Guess that's about it for now going on a ride this weekend so will post pictures of the ride.

Things are changing.

It has been almost a year since we sold the motor home and moved back to Salisbury MD . Because of health problems. We are glad that most of the problems we where having had gotten better. I still have back problems from time to time but trying not to let that stop me. Gwen still has a few minor things going on but for the most part doing ok. We still plan on doing some traveling but it will be buy car or motorcycle from now on . For you that didn't know I have gotten back into riding a motorcycle after years of not having one . This is my ride.

Looking forward to putting some miles on it this summer. Hoping to take it to Skyline Drive is summer are fall. Will update as soon as we have made plans. Planning on doing a better job of keeping the site updated. That's it for now.

Change In our Travel Status

 Gwen and I have had a major change in our travel and camping status. Due to some health issues we have sold our Motor Home and giving up traveling and camping full time. Gwen may have to have some more surgery in the future due to some problems from the last round on operations she had and I am still recovering from heart problems that I had at the last of 2020. We are living in Salisbury MD, for for now until we decide that this is where we want to stay for now. We will still be posting pictures of short day trips as health allows. We are looking forward to being home this year for the Holidays . it hast been a long time. We are not looking forward to the cold weather this winter and not being some place where it is 70 + degrees . Will try to update a often as possible. 

Health Set Backs

 

The last part of 2020 and the first month of 2021 has sucked. It all started just before Christmas then they found that I had blood clots in both lungs and being in the Hospital. While in the Hospital was found that I had a 99 blockage in my heart. Had a stent put in and all seems to be good until I tested positive for Covid-19 with pneumonia that cause me to have to remain in the Hospital for a few more days. Luckily everything is getting better and I am feeling 100 percent better. I do have some Doctor appointments to follow up with that stopped our travel plans. Guess we will be here until March.

The weather here in East Tennessee has sucked so far it has been either raining , snowing or cloudy for the last month it seems , hopefully it will get better soon. We are in a nice campground the is close to everything so if the weather gets better there is a lot to see and do. We have been able to get up into the Smokey Mountains and Caves Coves a few times to do some sightseeing . For now I am just working on doing a full recovery and getting back to normal. 

Travel Plans Update

Looks like we are going to be staying here in Tennessee until the end of December before heading to Florida. Doctors found that I have blood clots in both lungs and want us to stay put for a few more weeks. Not looking forward to spending the winter where it can get cold and maybe even snow, but Gwen is loving it. We are having a lot of fun sightseeing and taking short day trips. The traffic in the Smokey Mountains area is really bad so we try to stay away for that area on the weekends . Here are a few more picture to look at and there will be more to come.

Smokey Mountians

Having a great time here in the Smokey Mountains. Doing alot of sightseeing and day trips. Traffic in some of the areas is bad but seems to be getting better. We may be staying here until the end of Dec. not sure yet it will depend on what happens we I go to the doctors on Nov 15th. They have to do another Cat scan of the lungs. Just have to wait and see what happens.

Day in the Mountains

After 4 days of sitting at the campsite due to myself having a mild case of Pneumonia in both lungs we where able to ride back in the mountains today. Where lucky enough to see some Elk at Cherokee NC. We had been in the area in the past but never seen any Elk , guess today was our lucky day.
